Alexander Isak, Joelinton & Fabian Schar: Newcastle United injury list & return dates - Chelsea next

Alexander Isak, Joelinton & Fabian Schar: Newcastle United injury list & return dates ahead.

Newcastle United ended a run of three straight defeats by beating Fulham at St James' Park on Saturday - but Eddie Howe had to contend with further injuries within his already depleted squad.

Prior to the game, it was revealed that club-record signing Alexander Isak had been left out of the squad after feeling the after-affects of his recent groin issue. And if that wasn't enough, injuries to Fabian Schar and Joelinton during the match added to the injury woes.

Both players withdrew in the first half. Schar pulled up with a glute problem just 13 minutes before Joelinton felt some discomfort in his hamstring as half-time neared.

Emil Krafth and Lewis Miley were introduced and it was the latter who broke the deadlock on the hour-mark to become Newcastle's youngest-ever Premier League goalscorer. Goals from Miguel Almiron and Dan Burn wrapped up the win.

There's little rest for Howe's men. Next up is a trip to Chelsea on Tuesday where a place in the semi-finals of the Carabao Cup is up for grabs.
