Newcastle United have confirmed the signing of Alexander Isak from Real Sociedad for an undisclosed fee.
The Sweden international has become the club’s all-time record signing for a fee in the region of £58million - £18m more than Joelinton’s arrival from Hoffenheim in 2019.

The 22-year-old has put pen to paper on a “long-term” contract at St James’ Park after passing his medical and completing the remaining formalities.
Isak becomes United’s fourth summer signing after Matt Targett, Nick Pope and Sven Botman as spending exceeds the £100m mark. He will wear the number 14 shirt.
And on his move, the former Borussia Dortmund striker revealed how the Geordie-faithful played a key role in joining Eddie Howe’s side.

Isak said: “I’m delighted to have it done. It was a big, big decision for me but it is a decision I am really happy with.
“It is a great, historical club that I think anyone would like to play for, with amazing fans. They were a big part of why I came here - and also the club’s project, which is one that I really believe in.

“You always want to go into a team and know how they play. I think Newcastle play very attractive football and I want to be a part of that.”
Isaak started his career at Swedish side AIK before moving to Bundesliga giants Dortmund.
After two years in Germany, the 37-capped Sweden star moved to Sociedad and scored 44 goals in 132 appearances.

Following a three-year spell in Spain, Isak is regarded as one of the most exciting prospects in Europe.
Isak being named in the matchday squad for the Premier League clash at Wolves on Sunday is subject to international clearance.
