The injury
Saint-Maximin received a kick to the calf in Newcastle’s recent 1-0 win over Aston Villa, which has ruled him out of the last two games at West Ham and Brentford.

“I think he will be a lot closer for that game. He is a massive player for us and we are aware we need him back for the next game.”
Potential return date
The French could be available for Newcastle’s home game with Brighton & Hove Albion this coming Saturday.
Kieran Trippier

Trippier is still on crutches after breaking the fifth metatarsal in his left foot.

What Eddie Howe has had
After the win at Brentford, Howe said: “Kieran stayed with us last night (Friday) and wanted to be around the players and that is full credit to him.
“That’s his mindset, he wants to make a difference even though he is not on the pitch at the moment.
“I’ll always help players when they want to be involved when they’re injured and good personalities, which he is. He’s a leader.

Potential return date
In the best-case scenario, Trippier could return for the final three games of the season against Arsenal, Manchester City and Burnley.
Matt Ritchie
The injury
Ritchie has missed the last five games - Leeds, Everton, Aston Villa, West Ham and Brentford with a knee injury.
What Eddie Howe has said
Howe said before the West Ham draw in February: “Matt’s in a good place. I don’t think he’s too far away from returning.

“He’s had a period where he had to back right off and have minimal activity but he’s running again in a straight line and he’s stepping up closer to being back full-time with the group.
“I anticipate he won’t be too long.”
Potential return date
No return date is known but with four games in 10 days coming up, Ritchie could be called upon.
Callum Wilson
The injury
Newcastle’s top scorer injured his calf during the 1-1 draw with Manchester United on December 27.
