Bruno Guimaraes' incredible assist during Newcastle United's 4-4 draw against Luton Town on Saturday afternoon has been doing the rounds on social media.

With Luton leading 4-2 at St James' Park, the Brazilian helped spark a comeback when his outside of the foot cross was volleyed home by Kieran Trippier before substitute Harvey Barnes then levelled things up to rescue a point.

Guimaraes and Saint-Maximin were teammates on Tyneside for 18 months and struck up a close bond. When the Frenchman left to join Saudi Pro League side Al Ahli in a £23million last summer, Guimaraes revealed his appreciation for the winger.

He said: “Thank you for everything my bro! You made me feel at home since my first day here! I will never forget how important you were to me. All the best and I will always be with you".

And replying to Saint-Maximin on Sunday evening, Guimaraes said: "Miss you everyday bro."

Since making the switch to Saudi, Saint-Maximin has scored three goals and provided eight assists in 19 appearances. Al Ahli, who have the likes of Roberto Firmino, Riyad Mahrez, Edouard Mendy and Gabri Veiga in their ranks, sit third in the Saudi Pro League.
