Alexander Isak's penalty opened the scoring for United but West Ham hit back to lead at half-time via goals from Michail Antonio and Mohammed Kudus before Jarrod Bowen added a third in the 48th minute.

The game appeared to be out of reach for the hosts, however the introduction of Harvey Barnes helped inspire a comeback. Another Isak penalty pulled the scoreline back to 3-2 before a brace from Barnes completed a stunning comeback.

Reacting to the result after the game, Staveley posted on Instagram: "An unbelievable game. On the edge of my seat right to that final whistle! Proud beyond words of this team 🖤🤍 #howaythelads"

Fellow co-owner Jamie Reuben also provided his reacting on X (formerly known as Twitter), saying: "Unbelievable turn around!!! Let’s go."
