Alexander Isak's 13th-minute opener was cancelled out by Raheem Sterling's free-kick but a brilliant second-half performance saw the Magpies surge to victory.
Two goals in two minutes came courtesy of Jamaal Lascelles and Joelinton before Anthony Gordon added a fourth inside the closing stages.
