Newcastle United travel to Blackburn Rovers in the fifth round of the FA Cup as they look to advance into the last eight of the competition for only the second time in 18 years.
The Magpies head to Ewood Park having lost 4-1 to Arsenal on Saturday night, a performance that left Eddie Howe deeply disappointed.
"My initial analysis was very similar to how I feel now," said Howe. "We need to do better in lots of different areas of the game. Normally we do, but it was a difficult day for us.
“After a performance like that, and you do get them, you want a chance to respond very quickly and to get it out of the system. This is a good game to do that with."
While Newcastle's Premier League form has dipped of late, the FA Cup has proved to be a healthy distraction having beaten Tyne-Wear rivals Sunderland and Fulham away from home to reach this stage.
A win at Blackburn would put United just one game away from a Wembley semi-final.
"It's a huge game for us," Howe said. "We're absolutely committed to the FA Cup to do well and have been all season. We've had two difficult games away from home to get to this stage and now another one.
"We've been looking forward to this game for a while so we know how important it is."
