‘Bonkers’ - Alan Shearer sends Newcastle United owners transfer warning that supporters will love

Alan Shearer hailed Alexander Isak after his double sank Sheffield United - and urged the Saudi-backed regime to reject all offers this summer.
Newcastle United stumped up £63million to sign the Swede from Real Sociedad less than two years ago. Despite several niggling injuries, Isak has bagged 29 goals in 48 games to emerge as one of Europe’s deadliest strikers.

Arsenal are reportedly sniffing around Newcastle’s talisman, with Mikel Arteta eyeing a striker to complete his frontline. Toon icon Shearer has insisted selling Isak “would be bonkers” while purring over his brace against Sheffield United.
“He’s a very, very good player,” he told The Rest Is Football podcast. “He’s a modern-day forward in terms of the trend we’re seeing now. Rather than a centre-forward, he’s a forward, and a brilliant example of that.
“He’s had one or two injuries this season but, while he’s been on the pitch, he’s been absolutely magnificent. He’s brilliant at running in behind because he’s quick - you’re not catching him.

“You know what it’s like up here. If you score goals, you’re going to be adored - and the fans absolutely adore him. It would be a kick in the knackers if they sold him.”
