Bruno Guimaraes reacts as Newcastle United favourite signs two-year contract

Newcastle United favourite Kieran Trippier has signed a two-year contract with Wolverhampton Wanderers.

Bruno Guimaraes has led Newcastle United’s good luck messages to Kieran Trippier, who has signed for Wolverhampton Wanderers.

Trippier has penned a two-year contract with the Championship side after deciding to leave Newcastle at the end of his contract.

The former England international became the first signing of the PIF era when he joined from Atletico Madrid in January 2022, playing an integral role in the Magpies’ recent success.

During his four-and-a-half years at St James’ Park, Trippier made 160 appearances as he helped the club win its first domestic trophy in 70 years by winning the Carabao Cup, as well as securing Champions League qualification on two occasions.

Before Newcastle, the 35-year-old also had successful spells at Tottenham Hotspur and Atletico Madrid but now drops back into England’s second tier for the first time since the 2013-14 season when he won automatic promotion with Burnley.

“I’m looking forward to working with the team, and giving my all on the pitch. I can’t wait to meet the fans and play at Molineux 🧡🐺”

Trippier’s Instagram post has been inundated with good luck messages, including many from his former Newcastle United teammates.

Newcastle captain Guimaraes was among the first to comment with “good luck brother”, whilst the likes of Nick Woltemade, Yoane Wissa, Tino Livramento, Joe Willock, Jacob Ramsey and Sven Botman also showed their support.

Emil Krafth and Matt Targett, who have also been released by Newcastle following the end of their respective contracts, wished Trippier “all the best”.
