Newcastle United fans are awaiting further updates on Bruno Guimaraes’ injury status after the midfielder picked up a thigh problem last week.
Having made his Magpies return from a hamstring issue in the 1-1 draw versus Bournemouth, Guimaraes linked up with Brazil for their double-header against Ghana and Tunisia in France.

The 24-year-old, however, wasn’t risked in his country’s 3-0 win over Ghana on Friday - despite being named as a substitute - after he was forced out of training two days earlier.
Guimaraes could come back into contention for Tuesday’s friendly with Tunisia at the Parc des Princes, although reports in Brazil have suggested the player has already returned to Tyneside for further assessment.

And while fans wait to hear whether or not Guimaraes will be available for Saturday’s Premier League clash at Fulham, the former Lyon star has taken to Twitter to post a somewhat cryptic message.
He said: “I may be afflicted, but never defeated. I may even cry, I may even suffer. But tomorrow will come and my faith will be rewarded. And my God does not fail, no!”

The international break has been tough on Eddie Howe’s side after club-record signing Alexander Isak withdrew from the Sweden squad with a knock.
“We are losing a very good player, who has done well at the start of the Premier League,” said teammates Viktor Claesson.
“It’s clear we wanted him with us, but it’s also something you’re used to as a footballer. There will be injuries. I have no doubt that we have replacements.”
