Bruno Guimaraes starred as Newcastle United secured their first home victory of 2024, beating Wolves 3-0 on Saturday.

The Brazilian was once again at the heart of everything for the Magpies, with his long bursting run from midfield help setting up the opener after his cross deflected into the path of Alexander Isak, who headed home.

But, in particular, everyone was left blown away after the 26-year-old hit a no-look pass to play in substitute Miguel Almiron. But unfortunately Dan Bentley's goalkeeping prevented an assist. The save took nothing away from Guimaraes, however, and social media went crazy for his skill.

And no one was more impressed than the midfielder's teammate Joe Willock who took to Instagram to share his admiration. Sharing the clip to his story, Willock said: "You the best," alongside the ice cold emoji.

The praise led Guimaraes to respond to Willock with a heartfelt message, lovingly using the nickname the Brazilian bestowed on the former Arsenal man.

"With you, it's easier Willockinho," wrote Guimaraes.

Willock made his second start in two games for United following his 'heartbreaking' three month stint on the sidelines due to an Achilles injury. The 24-year-old marked his comeback with a consolation goal in Newcastle's 4-1 defeat to Arsenal, before starting for Eddie Howe in the club's FA Cup victory against Blackburn Rovers.

"It was a bittersweet feeling," said Willock after scoring at the Emirates. "It's been a long journey for me on the sidelines, it's been heartbreaking to be honest. Probably one of the hardest times of my career because I haven't been able to be with my teammates that I love so much. "They've helped me a lot, there is a real brotherhood in the club. It means a lot to come back and be with them. I wanted to win today, unfortunately we didn't but I'm happy to be back. Hopefully I can stay fit."

Newcastle United are back-in-action on Monday 11th March when they travel to Stamford Bridge to take on Chelsea in the Premier League (8pm kick-off.)
