A ‘very sad’ Bruno Guimaraes has sent a message to Newcastle United supporters following the 1-0 victory over Fulham.
The Magpies midfielder was left in tears after an ankle injury forced him off at half-time.

Hide AdThe Brazilian twisted his ankle in the opening stages at St James’ Park but attempted to carry on after having his ankle heavily strapped.
But as the interval approached, Guimaraes knew his afternoon was over and had to be consoled by Joelinton and Sean Longstaff.
“Very sad about today’s injury, hopeful it’s nothing serious and that I can do what I love most as soon as possible,” the 25-year-old tweeted.
Indeed, Guimaraes was pictured leaving the stadium on crutches and wearing a protective boot ahead of a scan.

Hide AdHead coach Eddie Howe said: “He was [in distress], and he was after the game,” Howe said, “He’s worried about his ankle, it was a twist. He felt he could carry on until the end of the first-half when he signalled to come off. Never a good sign from our perspective.
“We’ll get it scanned and see what the damage is. We hope it’s not long-term but at this moment in time, we don’t know.”
Alexander Isak’s 89th-minute goal clinched a win for Newcastle after Aleksandar Mitrovic missed a penalty for the visitors.
