Newcastle United travel to the capital to take on West Ham United on Sunday afternoon in their final Premier League fixture before the two-week international break.

Eddie Howe’s side have faced a challenging schedule over the last month or so by competing in the league, Carabao Cup and Champions League, which has resulted in some key players picking up injuries.

Sven Botman - knee

Dutch defender Sven Botman has also missed the last three matches with a knee injury. Howe has already confirmed the 23-year-old won’t return until after the international break.

He was expected to return in pre-season but suffered a setback. Then, last month, during his recovery, the midfielder sustained a new Achilles injury.

Harvey Barnes won’t return to action until the beginning of 2024 after picking up a foot injury during the 8-0 win at Sheffield United.

The injury doesn’t require surgery but it won’t be until late December when the £38million summer signing returns to training.

Expected return: January 2024
