Jude Bellingham to Newcastle United? Yes please says Callum Wilson, although the striker concedes the Borussia Dortmund sensation is currently a tad out of the Magpies’ league.

The 19-year-old would walk into any team in the world right now, but it’s namely Real Madrid and Liverpool pushing for a move. Dortmund reportedly value Bellingham at £150million after he starred for England at the Qatar World Cup.

Indeed, Wilson has a look first-hand at just how special the Birmingham-born midfielder is, which he discussed on the latest episode of the BBC Footballer’s Football Podcast.

“He was good,” Wilson said. “It was the first time I’d seen him play because when I was in the squad last he was probably 16. But he was good. He is a solid midfielder, he has everything, great feet, strong, quick, can finish. So the world is his oyster.”

The discussion inevitably led to Bellingham’s future and his next club. Wilson couldn’t resist throwing Newcastle’s name into the hat.

When asked by fellow co-host and West Ham United striker Michail Antonio which team he’d like Bellingham to join, Wilson joked: “Newcastle, obviously!”

The 30-year-old, however, admitted that the likelihood of the midfielder moving to St James’ Park any time soon is slim.

“For us, we aren’t at that level yet to get a player like Jude. He’s going to be very expensive. Don’t get me wrong, I would love to have him at the club, but it’s too soon, I would say.”
