The reigning French champions have resisted a number of bids for their highly-rated defender, who is set to be United’s primary defensive target.

Newcastle are also awaiting news over the outcome of their bid for Sevilla centre-back Diego Carlos and also have a strong interest in Monaco youngster Benoit Badiashile.

Sky Sports also reported “progress” was being made in the move for Carlos.

However, Serie A club Torino are said to be keen to hold on to their prized asset according to Correire Granata.

Bremer has also been the subject of interest from Milan, Inter and Spurs.

Newcastle’s move for Reims striker Hugo Ekitike has been “complicated” by Paris Saint Germain’s interest in the young forward - according to 90mins.

The Magpies have been locked in talks with the 19-year-old and the Ligue 1 club as they look to add another forward to Eddie Howe’s squad.

Niklas Sule ‘rejects’ Newcastle move, Donny van de Beek ‘offered’

German outlet Sport1 have suggested Bayern Munich defender Nicklas Sule has rejected a move to Tyneside.

The powerful centre-back reportedly had his demands met by the Magpies hierarchy - but remained unconvinced by a move to a North East.

The Manchester Evening News have reported Manchester United midfielder Donny van de Beek has been offered to both Newcastle and German side Borussia Dortmund on loan for the rest of the season.

Moussa Dembele reports

French striker Moussa Dembele’s name has cropped up once again and Foot Mercato have said the Lyon frontman is “relatively unlikely” to move to St James Park, despite United’s continued interest in the frontman.

One player likely to extend his time away from United is goalkeeper Jake Turner.

The Daily Gazette have reported Colchester United are locked in talks with the Magpies over extending his current loan spell at JobServe Community Stadium.
