Chelsea predicted starting XI v Newcastle United as Mauricio Pochettino makes £194m call

Chelsea predicted starting XI v Newcastle United: Mauricio Pochettino makes £194m selection call.

Chelsea and Newcastle United go head-to-head at Stamford Bridge this evening (kick-off 8pm) in a massive game for both teams.

For now, the Premier League is parked as both clubs turn their attention to the Carabao Cup. It's the quarter-final stage, meaning a place in the semi-finals, and being just two games away from Wembley, is up for grabs.

Due to their non-involvement in Europe, Chelsea have played an extra game to reach this stage having beaten AFC Wimbledon, Brighton and Hove Albion and Blackburn Rovers.

Newcastle, meanwhile, have knocked out both Manchester City and Manchester United as they set their sights on reaching the final for the second consectuve year.

The two teams met at St James' Park in the league last mont as the Magpies ran out 4-1 winners. However, Stamford Bridge is a venue Newcastle don't tend to get results at with their last win coming in 2012.
