Chelsea are without one of their central defenders for remaining games against Manchester United and Newcastle United.

Benoit Badiashile won’t feature in Chelsea’s final game of the Premier League season against Newcastle United on Sunday (kick-off 4:30pm).

Magpies fans travel to Stamford Bridge in party mode after Champions League qualification was sealed via a goalless draw against relegation-threatened Leicester City on Monday night.

However, the game isn’t completely pointless for Eddie Howe’s side as there is an opportunity to finish third and above Manchester United for the first time in Premier League history.

Ahead of this weekend’s game, it’s been revealed that Chelsea will be without central defender Badiashile.

The 22-year-old was absent for Sunday’s defeat to Manchester City and will now undergo a period of rehabilitation. It’s feared the Frenchman could miss the beginning of next season.

Badiashile has made 11 Premier League appearances for the Blues following his £33million January move from Monaco and has impressed, despite a poor season under Graham Potter and now Frank Lampard.
