There has been a suggestion that Broja has emerged as a potential target for Newcastle United amid their frustrations in landing Hugo Ekitike.

The Magpies have worked tirelessly since January to tempt the Reims striker to Tyneside but a breakthrough is proving difficult.

An agreement has twice been in place with Reims - January and now - but talks with the 20-year-old’s agent are currently at an impasse.

While Newcastle have not walked away from a deal and still hope they can land Ekitike, it is no surprise to hear of Eddie Howe considering alternatives options.

It was initially believed the Blues would sell the 20-year-old for around £30million, however he may now get the opportunity to impress Tuchel in pre-season after a succcessful loan spell at Southampton.

The Albanian international scored nine goals in 38 appearances last term, which has attracted strong interest from West Ham United.

It seems Broja is likely to begin pre-season with Chelsea as Romelu Lukaku closes in on a return to Inter Milan on a season-long loan deal.
