Crystal Palace to issue official Marc Guehi update after major £70m Newcastle United claim
Palace have turned down multiple bids from Newcastle, the most recent a guaranteed £60million plus £5m in add-ons. For Guehi, it has been business as usual, captaining the Eagles in their opening two Premier League fixtures against Brentford and West Ham United.

Such fee would be a club-record signing for the Magpies, surpassing the £63m paid for Alexander Isak two years ago and represent Palace’s biggest-ever sale.
The same publication writes “it will be up to Guehi to decide whether he wants to leave London for Tyneside ahead of discussing personal terms.”
United could know more by the end of the day with Palace in Carabao Cup action against Norwich City this evening. No Guehi on the team sheet could be telling, although Oliver Glasner might decide to rest him.

Howe provided his last update after the 1-1 draw at AFC Bournemouth on Sunday and said: “I think we’ve made it clear, we’d love to add to the group but they have to be the right players at the right price for the short and long term of the benefit of the football club.
“We’re not in control of it, we’ll work as hard as we can to try and improve the squad.

Club legend Alan Shearer insists Newcastle must get the Guehi deal over the line, otherwise it will “reflect really bad” on chief excecutive Darren Eales and sporting director Paul Mitchell. The latter has been handling negotiations with Palace chairman Steve Parish.
