Dan Burn

Howe revealed deadline day signing Burn has been affected by a toe injury in recent days but was hopeful he’d be in contention for Everton.
Howe, speaking on Monday, said: “Dan has a slight toe problem that has been aggravating him the last few days, which is hopefully nothing too serious.

“He’s got an infected toenail. It’s a small thing but sometimes can be a big thing.
“We’ll see how he is today.”
Potential return date: Everton (H) - February 8.
Callum Wilson

Two months was the initial timeframe for top scorer Wilson after injuring his calf in the 1-1 draw with Manchester United on December 27.
However, with the 29-year-old only recently coming off crutches, his slow recovery likely won’t see him back until the final few games of the campaign.
A huge blow for United, if that does indeed turn out to be the case.

Howe said: “There’s a time when he’s due back but, I think, as always with these types of injuries, is not absolutely clear.
“We’ll go more on how he feels than a specific time given by the physios or doctors.
“It’s been slow progress for him since the initial injury. He’s been on crutches. I think he’s come off those crutches now, and is walking, which is a big step.
“We all wish Callum to come back as quickly as possible, but when he comes back, he’s got to be fit and ready to give his best.

“I don’t think it’s going to be short-term. Hopefully, he can make the last few games of the season, and really help us in the key moment.”
Potential return date: Unknown.
Federico Fernandez

Fernandez, included in United’s 25-man squad ahead of Ciaran Clark, has been out of action since December with a calf injury.
However, Howe confirmed the Argentine is “edging closer” after beginning work with the sports science department on Monday.
“I think Fede is edging closer,” Howe said. “I don’t see Fede being too far away.

“I also think Fede is a really, really important person in terms of his leadership qualities in the group. I think he’s a real fighter.
“In terms of our position currently in the league, he is an inspirational figure around the club and I was desperate to try and keep him available for selection.”
Potential return date: Brentford (A) - February 26.
Matt Ritchie

Ritchie missed the victory at Leeds after Howe confirmed the 32-year-old was touch-and-go with a knee injury.
The 32-year-old didn’t feature in the friendly against Al-Ittihad either, and it’s now been out confirmed Ritchie is out “longer-term”.
Potential return date: Unknown.
Paul Dummett

Dummett made just his second start of the campaign at Leeds having just recovered from a calf injury.
The Geordie defender travelled to Saudi Arabia and did not train. The same pattern has continued upon the team’s return to Tyneside.
With Dummett and Ritchie out, Matt Targett and the versatile Javier Manquillo are Howe’s only left-back options.
Potential return date: Unknown.
