Eddie Howe’s side were unable to deliver the club’s first trophy since 1969 but spirits weren’t to be dampened in the 32,000-strong West End at Wembley.
With this the Magpies’ first final in 24 years, fans were determined to soak up the weekend, and started that at Trafalgar Square 24 hours earlier.
They were no doubt some sore heads when supporters made the famous walk up Wembley Way, but come kick-off, everyone was in full voice.
