The Newcastle United winger has signed up with a new agency.

Newcastle United winger Jacob Murphy has changed his agent.

The 29-year-old is enjoying the best season of his career, establishing himself as a regular in Eddie Howe’s starting XI, as well as forming a telepathic partnership with star striker Alexander Isak.

Murphy has scored five goals and claimed eight assists this campaign. His 13-goal contributions is his best return in a top-flight campaign.

Jacob Murphy changes agent

Flourishing on the pitch, Murphy is also making moves off it.

The winger has left New Era Global Sports, the agency that helped finalise his £12million move to Newcastle from Norwich City in July 2017, and joined Wasserman.

“We are delighted to announce the signing of @nufc winger @jacobmurphy95,” Wasserman wrote on X. “Jacob has been on fine form this season, with 12 goal contributions in the Premier League alone.

“From all of us at #TeamWass, welcome to the family. 🙌”

Wasserman represents a host of players across world football, the biggest name being Real Madrid midfielder Federico Valverde, while players in the Premier League include Liverpool’s Curtis Jones, Manchester City pair Manuel Akanji and John Stones, and Bournemouth’s Ilya Zabarnyi.

There’s also a large contingent at Newcastle with Harvey Barnes, Tino Livramento and Lewis Hall under Wasserman’s roster.

A new contract in the offing?

With Murphy entering the final two years of the six-year contract he signed in 2021, Wasserman’s first task could be to negotiate a new deal for the in-form winger.

And what better time than now with the player earning high praise for his performances.

Speaking about Murphy recently, Newcastle boss Howe said: "He's a really valuable player because wherever you put him or whatever you ask him to do, he does it to the best of his ability.

"For me he's come on leaps and bounds since I've been here, but he has to feel that feeling of contribution so today was important."

Murphy may also need advice on his international future. It was reported earlier this week that Nigeria are set to approach him over switching his international allegiance.

The winger has played for England at under-21 level, but not senior. He is also eligible for Nigeria and the Republic of Ireland.
