Newcastle United transfer target Diego Carlos has responded to reports he wants to stay at Sevilla via a cryptic social media post.
It was claimed by Spanish outlet El Chiringuito TV on Thursday morning that Carlos had committed his future to the La Liga side.

When chased by the TV station’s reporter, Carlos was quoted saying: “I have a lot of time left here.” after his side’s 1-1 draw in Valencia.
But via his Instagram story, Carlos has hinted that may not be the case after all, as the Magpies look to strike a deal for the Brazilian defender.

As per the image above, the use of emojis such as laughing faces and the zipped face suggest hope of signing the 28-year-old might not be over yet for Newcastle.
Indeed, it is understood United are not ready to give up on Carlos just yet having identified him as a top target after being left frustrated in their efforts to sign Lille defender Sven Botman.
