Do EFL Cup red cards count in Premier League and vice versa?

Red cards in Premier League, FA Cup and EFL Cup games count for all domestic competitions and do carry across.

So for Newcastle, that means nobody is suspended apart from Pope. That is because his red card against Liverpool is still in place.

Bruno has now served his suspension which is a huge boost for Eddie Howe’s side. They were fortunate that they had a few Premier League games in between the semi-final and final.

Do FA Cup and EFL Cup yellow cards count in Premier League?

As of 2019, yellow cards count for the specific competition that they were picked up in. In the league, five yellow cards equates to a single-game suspension, whilst 10 results in a player missing two.

If someone gets booked in two FA Cup matches then they will have to sit out of a tie in that competition but would not miss a league or League Cup clash. The same applies for the latter and vice versa.

It is also worth noting in both cups, all yellow cards are wiped after the quarter-final stage anyway. This means all players can make this final now bar Pope, unless they are injured of course.
