Sabitzer, who joined on loan from Bayern Munich in January, missed the 2-0 victory against Wolverhampton Wanderers on Saturday with a knee complaint. It has since been communicated that the Austrian has suffered a meniscal injury.
A Red Devils club statement read: “Marcel has played an important role in the second half of our 2022/23 campaign, racking up 18 appearances and scoring three times, a cheeky backheel against Fulham in the Emirates FA Cup quarter-final and a double in the Europa League last-eight first leg clash with Sevilla.

“Everyone at the club is disappointed to lose Marcel’s services, as the Reds chase a strong finish to the season in the Premier League and FA Cup, and we are grateful for his contribution to our progress so far.”
The news comes after top goalscorer Rashford missed the weekend’s win because of a leg injury. And worryingly, boss Erik ten Hag was unable to reveal when the England international would return when speaking after the game.

Ten Hag is desperate to have Rashford, who has netted 29 goals this term, available before the season is out.
Fifth place Liverpool are one point behind Man United and Newcastle in the race for Champions League qualification after putting together a seven-game winning streak.
