Eddie Howe reacts to double Newcastle United injury blow after Wolves victory

Eddie Howe has provided an injury update on Newcastle United pair Ryan Fraser and Joe Willock.
Fraser was forced out of the Magpies’ 1-0 win over Wolverhampton Wanderers just 13 minutes in after pulling up with a hamstring issue.

Hide AdMeanwhile, Willock missed the game altogther after being ruled out with a knee injury.
Asked about the duo, Howe, firstly on Fraser, said: “It looks like a hamstring issue.
“How serious it is, it was obviously enough to bring him off the pitch which was a huge blow given the form he’s been in.
“Miggy came on and I think he did really, really well. So, I was very pleased with his impact.”

Hide AdHowe revealed Willock has had an injection in his knee after it became a reocurring issue.
“Joe wasn’t going to make it today,” the 44-year-old admitted. “So we made a decision on him earlier in the week.
“He’s gone away to have an injection in his knee, we hope that will fix the problem for him.
“We don’t think he’ll be out long term, we don’t think it’ll be long before he’s back in contention to play but until he’s back, you can never say never.
“We hope that’s fixed the pain he’s had.”
