Two of the newest names to emerge are Sevilla defender Diego Carlos and Manchester United midfielder Donny van de Beek.

Reports over the last 24 hours claim United have lodged a second bid for Carlos, while van de Beek, out of favour at Old Trafford, is said to have been offered on loan.

NewcastleWorld understands Carlos is being considered by United. Sources in the North West say van de Beek is a potential loan option for Newcastle and Borussia Dortmund.

What Eddie Howe said

When asked about the rumours surrounding the pair, Howe said: “We’re not going to play this game, are we, where we go through individual names?

“I would never talk about another club’s player whether you’re factually correct or incorrect.

“I wouldn’t do that out of respect to their clubs.

“I’m not going to comment on other people’s players. I’ve never done that in my career and I’m not going to start now.”
