Will Howe be Newcastle United’s new manager?

Without wanting to go down the Unai Emery route, it’s pretty safe to say that former Bournemouth boss Howe is pretty certain to the new boss at St James’ Park.

It’s unlikely to be two false dawns in a week for United.

How close is a decision?

Very. And it is expected to be confirmed on Friday, although club sources are remaining cautious given the Emery issues earlier this week.

The deal is as good as done - and it takes is for Howe to put pen to paper.

How long will Howe’s deal be?

NewcastleWorld has been told, as per reports elsewhere, that Howe will pen a two-and-a-half year deal.

Will Howe take the team at Brighton on Saturday?

It is not known how much of a contribution, if any, Howe will have at the Amex Stadium.

The manager is expected to be in attendance at the game itself, but at this stage, especially with no deal announced, it appears as if his role will be limited to a watching brief.

Graeme Jones, who will be retained as part of the new coaching setup, will likely continue in his role as interim manager.

What staff will Howe bring with him?

Reports elsewhere suggest Howe will bring three members of staff to United, as well as hang on to Jones.

That trio have been named as Jason Tindall, Stephen Purches and Simon Weatherstone.
