England 'leaked' starting XI vs Switzerland as bold calls made on Newcastle United, Aston Villa & Liverpool stars

How England are expected to line-up for their Euro 2024 quarter-final clash against Switzerland.

Gareth Southgate is preparing to address England’s struggling performances at Euro 2024 by changing formation for this evening’s quarter-final clash against Switzerland (kick-off 5pm).

The Three Lions have reached the quarter-finals of a major tournament for the third successive time but their displays in Germany have come under intense criticism.

Southgate’s side finished top of Group C but did little to inspire the public, beating 1-0 Serbia in the opener before drawing against Denmark and Slovenia.

That was all ready to come to a head last Sunday when England were minutes away from exiting at the last 16 stage against Slovakia. That was until a moment of brilliance by Jude Bellingham sent the game to extra-time.

And the team’s blushes were then spared completely as Harry Kane’s netted a winner, setting up a meeting with the Swiss, who knocked out Italy, in Dusseldorf tonight.

England have started with a back four throughout the tournament so far but the suggestions are Southgate will revert to a back three with wing-backs. Marc Guehi is suspended, meaning Aston Villa defender Ezri Konsa is in line to start.

Newcastle United’s Kieran Trippier has started all four games so far, but will that continue tonight? And what about Anthony Gordon? Southgate has been heavily criticised for giving the winger just five minutes of football.

Here is the ‘leaked’ starting XI - based on the latest reports from the national media:
