England’ leaked’ XI v Wales: Gareth Southgate changes impact Newcastle United & Arsenal stars - gallery
England face UK neighbours Wales in their final game of Group B tonight (kick-off 7pm) - and Gareth Southgate is expected to name changes.
The Three Lions beat Iran 6-2 in their opening game but an unchanged starting XI failed to impress against USA in a goalless draw on Friday night.
That has prompted calls for Southgate to freshen things up against Wales, with a number of players rumoured to have come into contention.
Kyle Walker’s return to fitness could put Newcastle United star Kieran Trippier’s position at right-back under threat.
And Callum Wilson will feel he is pushing for a first World Cup start amid concerns over Harry Kane’s fitness and the ankle knock he picked up in the opening game.
Only a defeat by a four-goal margin will deny Southgate’s men a place in the knockout, however they will want to ensure top spot in the group via a positive result against Wales.
As kick-off approaches, reports are circulating about how England will line up. Here’s how the starting could look:
