The Frenchman has missed 32 of United’s 46 games this season due to numerous injuries and has not featured since the Red Devils’ win over rivals Manchester City.
Ten Hag added: “He’s training. For two weeks. I think he can be in the squad for Sunday.”
Newcastle can leapfrog their visitors into third in the Premier League table with three points on Tyneside. The meeting between the two clubs comes just over a month after Man United lifted the Carabao Cup at Wembley.
