Newcastle United moved within three points of securing a place in next season’s Champions League with a 4-1 victory over Brighton and Hove Albion on Thursday night.
A Deniz Undav own goal and Dan Burn strike gave the hosts a 2-0 lead at the interval before Undav hit back for the Seagulls. Callum Wilson struck late on as Bruno Guimaraes sealed victory in stoppage time.

However, Howe refused to be drawn on talk of playing in the Champions League.
He insisted to BBC Sport: Yeah [we are close], but it is still so far away. We will enjoy tonight, but then turn our focus towards Leicester.
“I think we were just please with the performance tonight. To beat a side of their quality. We are not looking too far ahead.”

Newcastle face Leicester in their final home game on Monday before a trip to Chelsea on the final day while Liverpool are at home to Aston Villa this weekend before travelling to relegated Southampton on May 28.
Man United are three points behind Howe’s side with a game in hand and face Bournemouth, Chelsea and Fulham in their final fixtures.
Following Newcastle’s victory, data experts at FiveThirtyEight have predicted how the final table will look come the end of the month.
