Eddie Howe granted his players some time off following the 1-0 win over Chelsea last month as the campaign paused for the World Cup.
But for those not in Qatar, it’s business as usual from here on, with the Carabao Cup last 16 tie against Bournemouth at St James’ Park just over a fortnight away.
As part of the week-long training camp in Riyadh, the Magpies face Saudi Pro League champions Al Hilal on Thursday (kick-off 5pm GMT) before returning to the North East to welcome La Liga side Rayo Vallecano a week on Saturday.
For Saudi, Howe has named a 28-man squad. Check out our gallery to see which players have made the trip - and which players haven’t.
