

Four players omitted from Newcastle United’s Austria camp as Eddie Howe names 29-man squad
Newcastle United have landed in Austria ahead of their week-long training camp, which will see Eddie Howe’s side take on German duo FC Munich and Mainz 05.
The Magpies flew out to Austria on Sunday after beginning pre-season with a 5-1 win over National League outfit Gateshead in a behind closed doors friendly at the club’s Benton training base.
Miguel Almiron scored a brace, while Joelinton - from the penalty spot - Matt Ritchie and Sean Longstaff were also on the scoresheet as United fielded two different XIs in each half, excluding Kelland Watts, who played a full 90 minutes.
United arrived at their Austria hotel evening time - and eagle-eyed supporters noticed there were a few players missing from the footage and photos released by the club’s media team.

1. Martin Dubraka - in the squad
Played the first-half against Gateshead. Will rival Nick Pope for the No.1 spot.
