The former England international made his second Premier League start of the campaign at Goodison Park on Saturday as the Magpies drew 0-0.
Trippier, who was passed fit after missing the Carabao Cup tie against AFC Wimbledon in midweek, got through 70 minutes. United boss Eddie Howe was asked about the 34-year-old’s suspected injury but he was unable to provide a clear update.

Trippier was replaced by Tino Livramento as Newcastle claimed their first league clean sheet since the opening day against Southampton. However, Howe’s side did leave Merseyside disappointed after squandered chances to win it, including Anthony Gordon from the penalty spot.
“I think we did look solid today, that was our best defensive performance of the season especially when you consider the opponent.
“Everton are difficult to play against with a lot of direct players where one mistake against them can be punished with the threat of the second ball and set plays but we dealt with that really well - I was really pleased with that aspect of our play.

“That's the frustration when you have the defensive part there but not the attacking part.”
Howe then added United “would have had a better chance” of winning with Alexander Isak or Callum Wilson in the side. Both strikers missed the game through injury and Howe says there is no guarantee they will return for the visit of Brighton and Hove Albion after the international break.
Howe said: “You're always going to miss your strikers. You take a number nine out of your team and you're miss them and the two we've been missing are top players. They're both different but you can see there's elements of our game where we're just missing that spark. In part that's down to them but Anthony and the group have done incredibly well to play on without them.
“We'll be delighted to get them back when we can but there's no guarantee of that, we hope in the next two weeks you can see both of them back in training.”
