Fresh St James’ Park concept images emerge as Newcastle United ponder stadium decision

Newcastle United are set to confirm St James’ Park’s future and potential stadium plans in early 2025.

To expand, rebuild or relocate? That is the question of everyone’s lips associated with Newcastle United.

Brad Miller, the club’s Chief Operating Officer since the summer, promised a “once-in-a-generation” investment to solve Newcastle’s stadium dilemma. Many took these words as a precursor to news that the Magpies are set to move homes after 132 years at St James’ Park.

However, the potential logistical, financial and, in many ways, political problems that leaving the iconic venue poses have created a hot topic on Tyneside. Every Toon fan appears to be having their say on social media about what the ultimate decision should be.

The final say is not set to be announced until 2025 following further talks with fans, architects and local authorities. Earlier this year, stadium concept designer and 3D animator Damian Bosio produced several breathtaking suggestions to solve the conundrum via his YouTube channel, Bondibot.

The first option sees the Gallowgate End increased to the same height as the Milburn and Leazes stands. Secondly, Bosio proposes moving the pitch altogether, allowing for further wiggle room in the Gallowgate and East Stand.

The final design shows how a new stadium could be built that encroaches into Leazes Park - a possible nightmare for local preservation groups. Check out all three propositions below.
