The 29-year-old remains on the books at Newcastle, despite not making a first-team appearance for almost three years. Hayden has previously spent time on loan at Norwich City, Standard Liege and Queens Park Rangers but was unable to secure another exit in the summer.
Hayden last month appeared for the club’s under-21s in a National League Cup tie against Halifax Town but continues to train away from Eddie Howe’s squad.

A call-up to the Jamaica squad for their two-legged CONCACAF Nations League quarter-final tie against the USA handed the midfielder his first senior minutes of 2024-25. And unless Hayden leaves the Magpies in January then the March international break will be the next time he plays at senior level.
Speaking about the Hayden’s situation, McClaren said: "He realises that he's in the reserves at Newcastle. He needs a club in January. This is as much about the March window, the summer window and the next World Cup window as it is this window.
"Whether he contributes, whether he plays or he doesn't, it's as much getting him integrated into the Jamaican way of working. He's really enthusiastic about that.
"Every player needs a cause. Every player needs motivation and his motivation is to get back playing at the level he was playing three or four years ago when he first went to Newcastle. That's his only thing. To be able to commit to Jamaica and, hopefully, in January, to be able to commit to another club, will only make him better and we're helping him with that."

Hayden is unable to represent United in the Premier League after being left out of the 25-man squad.
A loan move would appear to be Hayden’s most likely route out of Tyneside, unless the player and Newcastle can reach an agreement to mutually terminate his contract which, in turn, would allow him to join another team on a free transfer.
