How close Newcastle United are to Marc Guehi signing revealed - fresh £60m offer made
Newcastle United have submitted an offer totalling £60milion for Crystal Palace defender Marc Guehi, according to reports.
Toon chiefs ramped up their transfer efforts last week ahead of the Premier League season. William Osula arrived from Sheffield United for a fee that could rise to £15million, with the youngster set to provide attacking cover to Alexander Isak and Callum Wilson.

Guehi’s impressive form hiked Palace’s asking price to £65million, with Liverpool and Manchester United considering the defender before the Euros. NewcastleWorld understands the Magpies are the only club at the table and saw two bids rejected last week.
The Daily Mail claim the highest of those offers was £48million - and Newcastle have returned with a third approach worth £60million including add-ons. An initial £55million with £5million in performances-related bonuses would take the Guehi deal, if accepted, just shy of the club-record £63million paid for Isak two years ago.
Palace know Guehi’s contract runs until 2026 and now may be the final chance to optimise his transfer fee. As it stands, Newcastle are slightly short of the £65million demands but the Eagles are yet to respond.
