Newcastle United are missing Kieran Trippier (foot), Callum Wilson (calf), Ryan Fraser (thigh), Jamal Lewis (groin) and Isaac Hayden (knee). Liverpool are in better overall shape, although the Merseyside outfit played a European semi-final at Anfield on Tuesday night against Villarreal. Only Curtis Jones (illness) and Robert Firmino (foot) are expected to be missing.

Previous results and form

Liverpool have won four of the last six meetings between the pair, with two draws in the other two games.

But Newcastle have won their last four games and their last six at their own stadium. The Reds will have to find a way to get past the rejuvenated Magpies if their league challenge is to not be hindered.
