Paris Saint-Germain remain in talks over a potential deal for Newcastle United target Hugo Ekitike, reports in France claim.
Newcastle’s move for the 20-year-old has stalled in recent weeks after disputes with the young striker’s agent.

With neither party backing down, the deal has reached an impasse. As a result, the Magpies are exploring alternative targets.
Ekitike has been on United’s radar since January when they almost signed him on deadline day until the player decided against leaving his hometown club mid-season.
A move was quickly revisited at the beginning of the summer, and although a transfer fee is in place with Reims, Newcastle have been unable agree terms with Ekitike and his representatives.

PSG reportedly remain in talks with Hugo Ekitike
There is a feeling Ekitike’s agent is holding out for interest from elsewhere, and as reported in France, PSG remain in talks over a potential swoop for the France under-20s international.
The appointment of Luis Campos as a football advisor is set to see the Paris club alter their approach in the transfer market by targetting France’s brightest young prospects.

And as per Foot Mercato, Campos sees Ekitike, who scored 10 goals in Ligue 1 during his breakthrough campaign, as a back-up to star man Kylian Mbappe.
That said, there are slightly conflicting reports however, with PSG also credited with a strong interest in Gianluca Scamacca.
The Italian striker scored 16 goals last season for Sassuolo.
