Newcastle United have lost one of their up and coming talents to injury, as confirmed by the player himself. The Magpies are not having an easy time with injuries as things stand, with the treatment room bursting at the seems.

Jacob Murphy and Alexander Isak recently picked up fresh blows, joining Elliot Anderson, Harvey Barnes and Sven Botman on the club's injury list as the winter approaches. But one of the under-21s stars has now joined the treatment list, with Jamie Miley suffering a blow.

Miley confirmed on social media: "Gutted to be out for a little while, but I’ll be back stronger." The 19-year-old has featured regularly for the under-21s, while he also featured in the Gateshead friendly during pre-season.

Miley has been playing alongside highly-rated brother Lewis for the under-21s, and speaking of his price of playing alongside his sibling recently, he told the club website: "It's been really special. It's not normal to be playing alongside your brother, especially at under-21 level and getting this far together.

"We've been training with the first-team recently, too, and you just think 'wow'! It's something not just special for myself and Lewis but also for our families because they've support Newcastle! For their sons and grandsons to be training with them, we feel their pride for us both as they message us after training. The dream is to play for the first-team but if me and Lewis can do it alongside each other, that would be even more special."
