It's been revealed Joelinton will be out of Newcastle United's squad for at least six weeks.

Joelinton's partner has provided an update on the Newcastle United star following the news he'll be sidelined for at least six weeks with a quad injury.

Eddie Howe revealed today the Brazilian will be out of action after leaving the pitch during the Magpies' 3-0 victory over Sunderland in the FA Cup.

The injury is a lot worse than first thought, after initial reports claimed the midfielder would only miss Saturday's Premier League match against champions Manchester City.

"It isn't good, it is an injury that will see him miss a minimum of six weeks," said Howe in the pre-match press conference. "He has a problem with a tendon in his quad.

"He is very disappointed, he wants to play and d well- we have to try and pick him up. It is a big blow."
