Newcastle United hope to welcome some players back when they return after the Premier League winter break.
Magpies' boss Eddie Howe was without 11 senior players for Saturday's 3-2 defeat to Manchester City. Tino Livramento missed the game through illness while Joelinton has been ruled out for a minimum of six weeks, though there are fears it could be significantly longer.
The likes of Joe Willock, Elliot Anderson, Harvey Barnes, Jacob Murphy and Callum Wilson remain sidelined but some could return in the near future. Matt Targett, Nick Pope and Sandro Tonali are among the long-term absentees.
Newcastle aren't back in action until January 27 when they travel to Fulham in the fourth round of the FA Cup before facing Aston Villa in the Premier League three days later.

1. Fabian Schar - hamstring
