Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp has ranted about his side’s upcoming TV schedule - including their trip to Newcastle United in 17 days’ time.

The Reds face Benfica, Manchester City, Manchester United, Everton and a potential Champions League (UCL) semi-final game before they visit St James’ Park at the end of the month.

Should Klopp’s side overcome Benfica tonight - they currently lead 3-1 on aggregate - the first leg of their UCL last four game falls on the midweek leading up to the Premier League (EPL) clash on Tyneside.

Kick-off is at 12:30pm on Saturday, April 30, and the German manager has taken aim at the EPL and TV companies for the fixture pile-up with his team bidding to win the quadruple.

‘Nobody cares’ - Klopp on TV schedule

“The only game I am concerned about is tomorrow night, Benfica. Then, because of the success we had so far we play Saturday, City.

“Then we play (Manchester) United, then we play Everton, then if we get through tomorrow night we have the (Champions League) semi-final, then BT and the Premier League give us Newcastle away at 12:30. It’s just not okay.

“If we play a Champions League semi-final, if you find another league in the world and another broadcaster where they put one team who is in the semi-final, might be two, might be three English teams, on a 12:30...What? What are you doing? Why would you do that?

“So that’s why it’s so difficult [to win four trophies], but nothing happens because nobody cares.”

Before taking on Liverpool, Eddie Howe’s Magpies face Leicester City, Crystal Palace and Norwich City as they look to secure top-flight safety.

Newcastle are currently 10 points above the relegation zone after beating Wolverhampton Wanderers 1-0 on Friday night.
