Newcastle United were handed two fresh injury blows in their 1-0 victory over Aston Villa on Sunday afternoon.
The win against Steven Gerrard’s Villa, courtesy of Kieran Trippier’s free-kick, opened up a four-point advantage on the Premier League relegation places.

But it may have come at a cost for Eddie Howe’s side after Javier Manquillo and Kieran Trippier limped off.
We take a look at Newcastle’s current injury list and each player’s possible return date:

Newcastle have confirmed Trippier has fractured the fifth metatarsal bone in his left foot, which is likely to see him sidelined for up to six weeks.

“We’re keeping everything crossed that there is no broken bone there.”

At best, Trippier could return for the home game against Wolverhampton Wanderers on April 9, but that is dependent on how quickly the England full-back recovers.

Fernandez has been sidelined since December with a calf problem.

Callum Wilson

The injury
Wilson has been out of action since injuring his calf in the 1-1 draw at home to Manchester United on December 27.
What Eddie Howe has said
“There’s a time when he’s due back but, I think, as always with these types of injuries, is not absolutely clear.

“We’ll go more on how he feels than a specific time given by the physios or doctors.
“It’s been slow progress for him since the initial injury. He’s been on crutches. I think he’s come off those crutches now, and is walking, which is a big step.
“We all wish Callum to come back as quickly as possible, but when he comes back, he’s got to be fit and ready to give his best.
“I don’t think it’s going to be short-term. Hopefully, he can make the last few games of the season, and really help us in the key moment.”

Still unknown, although Howe’s comments suggest he might not return until April at the earliest.
