Late injury blow brings two changes: Newcastle United’s predicted starting XI v Everton

Newcastle United’s predicted starting XI to take on Everton at Goodison Park - including two changes.

Eddie Howe could be forced to make changes to his Newcastle United starting XI for the visit to Everton this evening (kick-off 7:45pm).

Newcastle take on Sean Dyche’s Blues just four days after hammering Tottenham Hotspur at St James’ Park, a 6-1 scoreline that further underlined their Champions League credentials.

Bruno Guimaraes is expected to feature, despite nursing an ankle injury but Fabian Schar and a couple of others will undergo late fitness tests.

Howe’s side can take another big step towards sealing a top four finish with a win at Goodison Park. Meanwhile, their hosts are eyeing a result to take them out of the relegation zone.

“I think Everton have got some very strong players. They’ve had a difficult season with changing manager,” said Howe. “Sean’s come in with his vast experience and is almost the perfect man for the job because he’s been there many, many times and he’s always found a way to keep this team up.

“He did an incredible job at Burnley and now coming into Everton, I think he has his style and his way of playing, and I think the positive thing for them is he has the players to execute that plan.

“We’re going to need to be very strong mentally, physically - we need to be robust. We’re going to need to stand up to the challenges that we face and then show our quality.”

Here’s the Newcastle starting XI we’re predicting Howe to name.
