Newcastle United’s players are beginning to arrive at St James’ Park ahead of kick-off against Wolves.

Alexander Isak is part of Newcastle United’s squad for tonight’s Premier League clash against Wolverhampton Wanderers.

There had been some slight doubt surrounding the Sweden international after he was rested for Sunday’s 3-1 FA Cup third round victory over Bromley after feeling tightness in his hamstring.

But fears of Isak missing again this evening have been put to bed after the 25-year-old was pictured arriving at St James’ Park ahead of kick-off at 7:30pm. He is expected to lead the line for United.

Isak can break one of Alan Shearer’s records by becoming the first Magpies player to net in eight consecutive Premier League games. The £63million already has 15 goals this campaign.

“He will be there or thereabouts,” Eddie Howe said on the striker’s fitness. “We haven't seen him train yet, but fingers crossed he will be.

“He'd be desperate to play, of course. Those [scoring] runs I'm not really too focused on and not too interested in, but I understand the individuals will care deeply about them.

“I'd love Alex to continue to score. I think the most important thing for me is that the team is functioning well for him and he's functioning well for the team, the two things go hand-in-hand together.

“We have looked like scoring goals recently, that's such a big thing for our confidence levels, he's played a big part in that, hopefully that continues.”
