Newcastle United's 2024 begins with an away trip to Premier League leaders Liverpool as they look to get their season back on track.
Despite 2023 being a memorable year for the Magpies, December has proven a tricky month with two cup exits - the Carabao Cup and Champions League - while six defeats in seven matches has also seen United slip to ninth in the top-flight table.
By contrast, Liverpool sit top of the table, 13 points above their visitors, who haven't won at Anfield since 1994. Indeed, Newcastle's last win against Jurgen Klopp's side came at St James' Park in December 2015 when Steve McClaren was in charge.
