Ahead of Newcastle United’s major Adidas sponsorship announcement today, fans have been teased with small but exciting hints about what the grand reveal might entail.

First, the famous logo appeared on the side of the iconic Strawberry pub before another one popped up on Percy Street just a short walk away.

And yesterday evening things picked up even more. Newcastle United midfielder, Bruno Guimaraes, and Geordie musician, Sam Fender, were photographed together for what looks to be part of the Adidas announcement video.

The Brazilian posted to Instagram a photo of him and the North Shields singer in what looks like King Street Social Club in North Shields with the loving caption: ‘Happy to meet you mate! Lovely guy and a real toon Army.’

Guimaraes also shared a photo of the Kinder Surprise themed cake Fender gifted him, a hilarious callback to episode three of ‘We are Newcastle United’ where the footballer gushes over his favourite chocolate. ‘Also thank you for the cake. Love it,’ Bruno wrote, alongside the laughing face emoji.

At first it seemed like the pair were casually meeting for the first time, however in the picture Fender is holding a Champions League football.

Fans also spotted a crew filming on Fender’s old street in North Shields yesterday which all-but-confirms Fender and Guimaraes are linking up with Adidas to promote the new deal and kit.

With this all just happening yesterday, it’s unlikely we’ll see this content today when the deal is officially announced- unless the crew worked through the night. Instead, the duo could feature in an advert for the brand later down the line.
