Marcus Rashford is set to be named in Manchester United’s squad for the visit of Newcastle United tonight.

Rashford has been left out of the matchday squad for the past four matches with his last appearance coming in the 2-1 win over Viktoria Plzen in the Europa League on December 12.

The 27-year-old was spotted arriving at Old Trafford around 4:30pm carrying a boot bag and listening to music.

Rashford was first omitted by new boss Ruben Amorim for the Manchester derby alongside Alejandro Garnacho. The latter was recalled for the Carabao Cup defeat at Tottenham Hotspur, and the last two Premier League defeats against AFC Bournemouth and Wolverhampton Wanderers.

Man United are without Bruno Fernandes and Manuel Ugarte tonight through suspension. Fernandes was sent off for two bookable offences against Wolves, while Ugarte picked up his fifth booking of the campaign.

Newcastle, meanwhile, have no fresh injury concerns after beating Aston Villa 3-0 on Boxing Day. Tino Livramento could return after missing out because of illness while Kieran Trippier has been passed fit.

Eddie Howe’s side won 3-0 at Old Trafford in the Carabao Cup last season but in the Premier League era have won just once. That was when Yohan Cabaye secured a 1-0 win, 11 years ago.

The Magpies are seven points above Amorim’s men and will move up to fifth in the league table with a victory.
